Water is an extremely scarce and precious resource. There is only a limited amount of fresh water available for use by humans. The average family can waste 180 gallons per week, or 9,400 gallons of water annually, from household leaks. It is estimated that more than 50 percent of landscape water use goes to waste due to evaporation or runoff caused by over-watering. This initiative works to reduce the amount of water wastage. If restaurants only fill the glasses of water halfway, the customers will have an easier time finishing their glass. If they need more water, the waiters can fill their cup halfway. This allows people to finish the water that they’ve asked for, and there will be less wastage.
