Alternative Energy
Renewable energy is energy derived from natural resources that replenish themselves in less than a human lifetime without depleting the planet’s resources.Energy generation in the US is dominated by non-replenishable fossil fuels. Renewable energy has been an active topic of discussion lately due to the real threats of climate change. Local electrical utility companies (Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service) have been making changes to their utility plans to encourage homeowners to convert to more renewable energy sources. Electricity production is our #1 source of greenhouse gases and clean energy reduces harmful smog, toxic buildups in our air and water and the impacts caused by coal mining and gas extraction.
